Collagen Peptides Story

We created our Grass-fed Collagen Peptides formula for those who want to maintain healthy connective tissue in their joints, skin, and hair throughout their lifespan.

Modern diets tend to exclude many of the natural sources of the amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline (naturally found in organ meats, skin, and connective tissue of animals). These specific amino acids are the main structural building blocks of connective tissue in our bodies.

Formula Highlights

We formulated Grass-fed Collagen Peptides from pasture-raised cows from South America to supply easily-digestible amino acids for connective tissue health.
  • Naturally-flavored and sweetened – no synthetic flavors or artificial sweeteners.
  • Amino acid profile rich in glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline.
  • Easy to blend into room-temperature and warm liquids and also easy to incorporate into other foods for a protein boost.
  • Hydrolyzed gelatin from grass-fed cow hides, which supplies types I and III collagen.
  • Easily digestible peptides with molecular weight of 2000 to 4000 Dalton.
  • Finished goods tested to verify purity and potency to ensure it meets protein claims and is also screened for heavy metals, microbes, and other contaminants before being released.
Ingredient Benefit
Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides Sourced from gelatin derived from hides of pasture-raised, grass-fed South American cattle (Brazil, Argentina, and Columbia), collagen peptides are a form of hydrolyzed (partially broken down) protein rich in amino acids used for maintaining healthy skin & joints. It contains 18 different amino acids, but is particularly rich in glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. The small molecular weight (2,000-4,000 daltons) help it dissolve easily in room-temperature and warm liquids.
Natural Flavors Water or ethanol extracts of natural flavor compounds are used to enhance the flavor of the whey protein concentrate which naturally has a slightly sweet flavor.
Xanthan Gum A soluble fiber used to help even out the protein dispersion in liquid and provide a more palatable texture/mouthfeel.
Cellulose Gum A powder derived from the cell walls of plants, which is used to help provide a thicker texture and mouthfeel.  It may also support satiety.
Sodium Bicarbonate

Commonly known as baking soda, used as a buffering agent.

Potassium Chloride A mineral salt used to lend a slight salty note to the flavor system. It's used in many foods as a natural salt substitute.
Potassium Citrate

Salt of citric acid used as a buffering agent.

Sea Salt Natural mineral used as part of the flavoring system. (Chocolate flavor)
Organic Stevia Extract Naturally-derived, zero-calorie, high-intensity sweetener that a minimal effect on blood sugars and insulin levels.
Monk Fruit Extract Naturally-derived, zero-calorie, high-intensity sweetener with 100-250 times the sweetness of table sugar. Also known as lo han guo, it has minimal effect on blood sugar and insulin levels and may also have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Organic Cocoa Powder Sourced from de-fatted ground cocoa beans, it's used to give the Chocolate Collagen Peptides flavor. Cocoa powder is rich in polyphenols and may support healthy mood and cardiovascular health.
Do You Have to Eat Protein Immediately After a Workout?
Are You Protein Poor?
Since 2010 the USDA has recommended that adults over 18 eat 0.36 grams of protein per pound of body weight daily, which works out to roughly 55 grams of protein for a 150-pound person.  But that amount may be too low for most active people, according to a 2015 study by a team of researchers in Canada and Texas, published in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this product gluten-free?

Yes. No gluten-containing ingredients are used in the formula, and every lot is tested to confirm it’s below 20ppm gluten.

Is this a complete protein?

No, collagen lacks the amino acids cysteine and tryptophan, so is considered a supplemental amino acid source, not a complete protein.

Is this product vegan?

No, it’s made from gelatin sourced from grass-fed cows.

What are the benefits of supplementing with collagen?

There’s good evidence to suggest supplementing with collagen helps support healthy skin, joints, body composition, strength, bone density, and cardiovascular health. For more on these benefits, visit our post on the Health Benefits of Collagen.

What’s in the ‘Natural Flavors’?

Water or ethanol extracts of flavors from natural plant sources (such as vanilla bean).

How much protein should I consume?

: Be sure to consult your doctor before making any significant change to diet or supplementation. For healthy individuals engaged in resistance training programs, a good estimate for protein needs is 1g of protein per pound of goal or ideal body weight per day, assuming they do not have kidney disease or other medical conditions that would warrant protein restrictions. For more on protein recommendations, read our post on high-protein diets.
