The Digestive Enzyme Complex Story

Optimal metabolic function and digestion depends on adequate enzyme activity. Every cell depends on enzymes to catalyze biological reactions involved in energy production, repair, and tissue building.*

Exercise, injury, stress, and certain diseases may increase the need for enzyme activity and aging can decrease enzyme production.*

About 20% of the US population may have a digestive issue--60-70 million people - and insufficient enzyme activity contributes to these digestive problems. Symptoms range from burping or gas following meals, to constant diarrhea or periodic pain.*

Digestive enzymes fall into three different categories: proteases to break down proteins and peptides into amino acids; carbohydrases to convert carbohydrates to glucose and fructose; and lipases to convert fat to fatty acids and glycerol.*

Compared to previous versions of Life Time Digestive Enzymes, this formula is now safe for those using proton-pump inhibitors (PPI?s), is more concentrated (requires fewer capsules), and is considered vegan (no longer contains ox-bile). Frequently Asked Questions

I have lactase deficiency and trouble digesting dairy. Should I buy a lactase supplement or your Digestive Enzyme Complex?

Are there and contraindications if I am consuming medications?

: Digestive Enzyme Complex should not be used concurrently with H2 blocking drugs or proton pump inhibitors, as these drugs block stomach acid production. Consult with your Doctor before using our supplement.

I?ve heard about supplementing with a specific HCL enzyme. Does this take its place?

HCl is one of several enzymes important for digestion, and is part of this formula. Many people get adequate relief or support from a broad spectrum supplement.
